Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a seasonal program, running this heating season from October 1, 2024 to May 1, 2025.  LIHEAP helps households stay warm in the winter through programs that reduce the risk of health and safety problems that arise from unsafe heating practices.

Per season, a one-time supplemental grant is sent directly to vendors who then credit the client’s account for the amount specified. Eligible clients also qualify for a reduced electric rate.

Associated Program at EBCAP: Weatherization Assistance Program
Weatherization Assistance Program reduces energy costs for LIHEAP eligible households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes, while ensuring their health and safety. Please indicate on your LIHEAP application if interested in these services or contact our offices for further information/questions.
